2012 Environment Grants
Grants in this area are focused on protecting wilderness areas and supporting grass-roots organizations that are involved in keeping our rivers, bays and coastal waters clean and safe. The Foundation continues to support technical development in the area of landscape analysis and water quality monitoring that will benefit a broad range of conservation activities. Columbia Land Conservancy, Chatham, NY. $10,000 to support the environmental education outreach programs.
Feather River Land Trust, Quincy, CA. $10,000 to support the Learning Landscapes Program.
League to Save Lake Tahoe, South Lake Tahoe, CA. $5,000 to support the Community Education and Engagement Program.
The Nature Conservancy, San Francisco, CA. $5,000 to support restoring the reefs of Kaneohe Bay, HI.
Ocean Research and Conservation Association, Fort Pierce, FL. $5,000 to support the Kilroy Camera Project.
Peninsula Open Space Trust, Palo Alto, CA. $5,000 to support the Heart of the Redwoods Campaign.
San Mateo County Parks Foundation, Menlo Park, CA. $2,000 to help support signage replacement at Edgewood Park and Nature Preserve.
Surfrider Foundation, San Clemente, CA. $20,000 to support Surfrider Foundation’s national support of beach access campaigns across the chapter network.
Truckee Donner Land Trust, Truckee, CA. $15,000 to support the Royal Gorge acquisition.
The Trust for Public Land, San Francisco, CA. $20,000 to support the Sierra Nevada Checkerboard Program.
The Wilderness Society, San Francisco, CA. $20,000 to support the Southern Sierra Nevada National Forest work - road right-sizing, forest restoration, and land management plan revision.
