2015 Education Grants

Grants in this area are focused primarily on improving research opportunities for science students.  Additionally, the Foundation supports medical training in the areas of rural practice and humanism.  The Foundation also supports programs to improve high school science education and college campus student safety.  (Total grants $201,610)

American Indian College Fund, Denver, CO.  $2,500 to support student scholarships.

Arnold P. Gold FoundationEnglewood, NJ.  $20,000 to support Student Summer Research Fellowships and the Research Institute.

Bowdoin CollegeBrunswick, ME.  $11,000 to support summer internships in business and government.

The Clery Center for Security On CampusKing Of Prussia, PA.  $15,000 to support expansion of the Safe On Campus Peer Education Program.  

Columbia UniversityNew York, NY.  $20,000 for a summer fellowship to the Summer Research Program for secondary school science teachers.

Council On Foundations, Washington, DC.  $1,110 to support their membership programs that promote and enhance responsible and effective philanthropy.

Dartmouth CollegeHanover, NH.  $20,000 to support undergraduate leave-term scientific research. 

Dartmouth Medical SchoolLebanon, NH.  $6,000 to support the Rural Health Scholars Program.

El Camino Youth Symphony, Palo Alto, CA.  $1,000 to support general operating activities of the Symphony, which offers advanced music learning and performance opportunities to many local young musicians.  

Industry Initiatives for Science and Math Education, Santa Clara, CA.  $10,000 to support their summer research program for secondary school science teachers.

Manhattan Theatre Club, New York, NY.  $5,000 to support their education programs.  

Meritus College FundSan Francisco, CA.  $5,000 to support their scholarship retention program - Connections.

Roundabout Theater Company, New York, NY.  $10,000 to support their education programs.

Science Friday Initiative, New York, NY.  $2,500 for general program support.

Stanford UniversityStanford, CA.  $20,000 to support the Student Grants Program for undergraduate scientific research.

Union of Concerned Scientists, Cambridge, MA.  $10,000 to support expansion of their science network.

University of Nebraska FoundationOmaha, NE.  $20,000 to support scholarships for the Accelerated Family Practice Residency Program at the University of Nebraska Medical Center. 

University of Puget SoundTacoma, WA.  $20,000 to support student scientific research.
