2016 Envirorment Grants

Grants in this area are focused on protecting wilderness areas and supporting grass-roots organizations that are involved in keeping our rivers, bays and coastal waters clean and safe.  The Foundation continues to support technical development in the area of landscape analysis and water quality monitoring that will benefit a broad range of conservation activities.  (Total grants $129,500)

BayKeeper, San Francisco, CA.  $12,500 to support the San Francisco Baykeeper Project.

Columbia Land Conservancy, Chatham, NY.  $10,000 to support the environmental education outreach programs.

Feather River Land TrustQuincy, CA.  $10,000 to support hiring a full-time transaction manager.

League to Save Lake Tahoe, South Lake Tahoe, CA.  $5,000 to support the Community Education and Engagement Program.  

The Nature ConservancySan Francisco, CA.  $5,000 to support monitoring and restoration of the reefs of Kaneohe Bay, HI.  

Peninsula Open Space TrustPalo Alto, CA.  $10,000 to support the Farmland Futures Intiative.

San Mateo County Parks Foundation, San Mateo, CA.  $5,000 to support thornmint restoration and stewardship activities at Edgewood Park.

Student Conservation AssociationOakland, CA.  $2,000 to support mapping San Mateo County parks natural resources.

Surfrider FoundationSan Clemente, CA.  $20,000 to support Surfrider Foundation’s national support of beach access campaigns across the chapter network.

Truckee Donner Land TrustTruckee, CA.  $10,000 to support the Carpenter Valley acquisition.

The Trust for Public LandSan Francisco, CA.  $20,000 to support the Sierra Nevada Checkerboard Program. 

The Wilderness SocietySan Francisco, CA.  $20,000 to support the Sierra Nevada National Forest work.
