Application for Recognition of Exemption (Form 1023) Form 1023 was originally filed with the Internal Revenue Service in February 1988. However, at this time neither the IRS nor the Foundation is able to locate a copy of the form as filed. A letter from the IRS dated August 2001 affirms the Foundation's exempt status under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue code. This letter, by necessity, will substitute for those wishing to inspect the original Form 1023. IRS Determination Letter
